I took the tour after the free walking tour. Tina was amazing!! Her historical information and personal stories made history come to life. She also went above and beyond by staying after the tour to answer all our questions. If you're in Ljubljana, take this tour- it's worth the money!

I joined this tour after doing the free walking tour in ljubljana. This was a highly informative and fascinating look at the period if communism under Tito. Helena was a fabulous guide who integrated the history with personal memories and family stories. This a must for those interested in the recent past of Ljubljana and the influences on the nodern... A really interesting tour with really friendly guide Helena - who was happy to share her experiences and brought the (recent) history to life. Flexible agenda in terms of adjusting slightly to suit our interests and did not rush anything when we ran over our time. Genuinely interested in sharing thoughts and experiences, it was a brilliant tour; we learned... More

Helena was an engaging and interactive guide who made the experience worthwhile. She told us stories from her childhood and of what it was like to grow up during the communist regime. Highly recommended!

Tina gave us a three hour tour including fascinating background information that spanned history, economics, political science, sociology and law. In addition she shared her personal experiences having grown up in Yugoslavia and lived through the collapse of the country and of communism. Three hours may seem like a long time but there really wasn't a dull moment and there... More

The communist tour is a great way to start your first days in Slovenia//Ljubljana as it gives a great insight in the fascinating history of Slovenia, Ljubljana and Yugoslavia. The guide knew a great deal of thing and had most of the time some personal stories of that time (but the tour stayed quite neutral).

Excellent, excellent. We were not sure if we had the energy for a second tour on the same day, but we are so glad we went. While the morning free tour gave an excellent intro of the city, it left us wanting to know more about what actually took place here during communist times. We know nothing of Yugoslavia and... I was seriously impressed with this tour. I knew nothing about communism but had a friend who knew quite a bit. Both of us felt like we learnt a lot and really enjoyed the tour. Daniel was great at explaining stuff at a very basic level and then building it up. As you pay for this tour and it's more... More
