Lovely renovated home of a famous slovenian architect. A devoted guide showed us through the premises which look exactly the same as in the time when Plečnik lived there. Useful exhibition at the entrance. Interesting also for children, they get a nice "exercise book" and in the house there is a special computer with dedicated games/tasks for them.

This place was closed when I visited and so it was only possible to get an exterior view of the property, which really wasn't that impressive. Of course, hard to judge the interior without seeing it.

Nice stroll (like everywhere in Ljubljana) down the river, but a bit difficult to find behind the church. Tours in English and nicely presented museum give great insight into development of this city.

I took a tour with a student, working there and I would absolutly recommand it. It will take you about an hour of your time, and you ll be able to get more inside information and interesting details about this amazing slovenian architect.

Joseph Plecnik is an admired and well respected son of Ljubljana, an architect who designed several bridges and buildings in his hometown as well as having gained a fabled professional reputation in Vienna. We toured his home and studio recently with a very bright young guide and learned a lot of history behind this talented man's personal and professional life.... More

We were given a great tour of this fascinating house by our guide who spoke perfect English. It was extremely interesting as visitors get access to virtually all of the rooms and they are full of Plecnik's possessions which are laid out as if he has just left the room. This is especially true of the room in which he... More

Having heard so much about Plecnik and seen so much of his designs in the town we decided to visit his house. Visits are guided tours only but we were lucky there was just the two of us. The house is not very big but the guide was very informative and you get a real insight into the man behind... More

Very nice tour with knowledgable guide, we were only four visitors during our tour so it was intimate. Wish you were allowed to see more of the house though. Really think you should visit!

Joze Plecnik is the architect of many many buildings and bridges in Ljubljana. While visiting the city center you probably came across several of them such as the National and University Library, the Triple Bridge or the Colonnades next to the Central Market. If you liked those and want to know more about Plecnik, who shaped the architecture of this... More
