Pirano was a stop in our tour. Tartini square is the main square with several shops and restaurants. There is a shop selling salt and chocolates with salt and a chocolate shop. A short distance from the square is the market selling fresh vegetables and olive oil. Next to the market is the free public toilets. Next to the salt... More

Tartini Square is the beautiful central square of Piran, bordered on one side by colorful fishing boats in the harbor. It has a very Venetian feeling, especially with the clock tower up on the hill. There are cafes and restaurants and little shops to enjoy. As a matter of practical advice, I wanted to recommend using the parking shuttle. We... More

We love people watching in this spot. We always visit in October so the population is down at that time yet it is warm and quiet and sweet.

The Tartini Square is large enough to be a full parade grounds with its charming government buildings on one side, the marina on the next and restaurants and stores on the other two sides. The restaurants have tables extending out on to the plaza without impacting the open area of the plaza. Our 7 couples from the Prinsendam docked in... More

Tartini Square is a nice blend of Piran with a statue of Giuseppe Tartini at one end of the giant marble circle. Gov't buildings face 12 to 9 o'clock with the harbor behind them. And shops and residences to the right and restaurants and shops at 6 o'clock. Who knew Tartini wad Stravinski's colleague. The shops are verylocal and helpful.... More

Tartini Square is a very nice place to enjoy the architecture, get some history and do some people watching. There are several restaurants and coffee shops that you can enjoy lunch or dinner or grab a quick coffee. The buildings are lovely and the square makes a great staring point to explore Piran.

Beautifyl, port located Main Square of Piran. Just in the middle of the city. Full of restaurants and coffees. In the summer time there were stallls, selling Italian and Sicilian food.

Tartini Square is the perfect jumping off place for exploring Piran. Grab an espresso (or two!) from one of the many cafes with outdoor seating. The square has a cool history - since medieval time it was a small harbor and the buildings were built around it. When it filled with too much sewage it was paved over to make... More
