The staff were extremely attentive and friendly and knew exactly what they were talking about. Tasted some of the best wines I've had in a while there! And the atmosphere and underground candle lit caves just added to this unique experience. I would definitely recommend. The only comment I'd make is that it is difficult to find, situated within the... More

A hidden gem in the cellar of the Hilton in Buda - we had a wonderful time hosted by Gabor and his lovely wife who were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the wines. We went for the 9-glass tasting menu, which took just under 3 hours. Highly recommend booking to avoid disappointment - there are only 5 or so tables... More

This visit was recommended by a colleague. The cellar was very atmosphere with an intriguing wander through the modern hotel down into the cellar. The wines tasted were varied and lovely and the information given by the Maitre D, very informative. Lynn and Ken Manning very much recommend a trip to this hidden jewel.

My husband booked this as a surprise for my birthday. Tucked away under the Hilton hotel on the buda side. We were greeted by the extrovert wine connoisseur who made the wine tasting both interesting and enjoyable as well as entertaining. We decided on the white wine tasting from local vineyards. The whole experience was 1st class and had we... More

Could not recommend this place more! Gabor, who owns this place with his wife, is so nice, knowledgeable and truly passionate about wine. We tried 5 wines and then the 6th was a glass of our favorite and the tastings came with warm cheese scones that were very good. All the wines were delicious, we ended up buying 4 bottles... More

I booked a large tasting for 12 of us for my Birthday celebration. Gabor was amazing at helping me to organise, and he even arranged for some non-alcoholic beverages for my pregnant friend who wanted to come along. Unfortunately the taxis in Budapest are not reliable and because there was such a large group of us, it meant that we... More

A group of 12 of us came to the Faust wine cellar for a 5 different wine tasting. The wines were delicious, the atmosphere great, just a really lovely nice cellar. Gabor, our sommelier, was so knowledgeable and friendly. Can't recommend this place enough!

This was a great place to visit. The host spoke very good English and was very courteous, knowledgeable, and made sure each guest received the best service. I chose the 6 wines, and they were all very good (and strong)! I'm glad I visited. My only recommendation is to get there a few minutes early because I had trouble finding... More

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
