Come to one of the famous ruin pubs in the center of Budapest and discover that Fogasház is much more than just a place to party. We’d like to give you various leisure and pleasure activities. We give space for theaters for rehearsal and stages, contemporary art galleries, civil lectures and debates. We have film clubs, flea market and of course parties at night. We now planning on opening the first ruin vine bar in Budapest. You can find the Lomography shop, Fogaskerékpár a bike rental and repair shop, and a pizzeria in the house of Fogasház.

Supercrowded circus tent. Pretty good music to jump to. Another room filled with teenagers dancing to the electric beats. The whole place is on fire...

For me Fogas is the best ruin party place :) It's a big space with number of of bars and dancefloors - both in and out side - so no worries when rain drops (which happend during our stay).

Visited on a tuesday but it was a poor Szimpla Kert. Wouldn't go back, other bars nearby are miles better.

Ruin bar - tourist trap. Too loud to do anything but dance and drink; that's good for business and for you, I guess, if you can't think of anything else to do with you time in this magical city.

Very similar to Instant but you also need to see this one. There is an outdoor place in addition and there are also 3 different dance floors

Szimpla Kert and Fogashaz are two of my favourite bars in the world. We had unforgettable nights in both! The techno rave upstairs on a Saturday is incredible!

Decent bar with a large courtyard and some shelter if the weather is fine. There was a big screen in the corner showing football. Not the worst kert by any means. Staff were helpful and efficient. Prices were reasonable.

Dear headbeeguy, Thank you for your kind words about the staff and the kert area, as well. Depending on the music style, we also have visuals to support the experience - sometimes we show cartoons, too. All the best, More

Interesting ruin bar with a open roof and hostel on top and 2 bars on the bottom floor with a man selling "American hot dogs". Drink prices are in the middle. Gets lively around midnight because some pub crawls stop here. Going atmosphere, good music.

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
