Beautiful castle

The castle is enormous and beautiful. The view from the hill is nice and spacious. There are also some coffees to sit and enjoy.

This city is so underrated. The view across the Danube from the Pest side looking at the Buda side is absolutely gorgeous. We stayed at the InterConinental--It has amazing views especially at night..

This is a must see area if visiting Budapest. This sits in a commanding position opposite the city and expensive views of the Danube, Chain Bridge and the central part of Budapest. On the hill itself there is Buda Castle containing a number of very worthwhile museums. It is spectacular at night.

Very romantic or relaxing walk to the top. You will be able to take breaks in-between, which means it is not a difficult hike for those who want to know. I found the night scene was gorgeous but I bet sunrise would be wonderful too.

Took the footpath up to the hill and when I reached the summit it was all worth while. Impressive building with great views of Chain Bridge and Pest side of the Danube.

If you purchase the combo package from the bus tour beware. The ticket says that you can redeem for your funicular ticket until 6:30pm, but really it's only 6pm. You have to redeem for your ticket with the bus driver and the last bus is at 6pm. Bummer that we didn't know that in advance and it cost us $20... More

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
