Visited ZOO in Budapest in June. It's lovely small zoo with good range of different types of animals. For me personally the elephants was inspiring. ZOO staff even had a show with them.

The Budapest Zoo is small in size but beautifully managed. The animals are in natural habitats with others. The botanical gardens are a lovely bonus. As a zoo keeper, I am sensitive to the mission of zoos in general and in particular to the well-being...More

Overall I found Budapest Zoo to be disappointing. Of the animals that actually appeared in their enclosure most of them seemed bored and unhappy. The Japanese Garden was lovely and thus a pleasant surprise to a poor zoo trip but it wasn't exactly what I...More

I have a somewhat love-hate relationship with zoos, so I may be biased here. I have the love for the animals and the hate for keeping them captive, which takes away from their natural beauty. I realize that, for most people, including me, there's no...More

Situated down the left hand side of the road near to Heroes Square, Budapest Zoo offers a somewhat unexpected experience from other zoos in Europe. The entrance fee is really cheap considering the cost of other zoos. It was roughly 2500 forints per person. The...More

We spent the warmest day of our stay in Budapest at the Zoo and then the Baths that are located conviently just down the road. The Zoo was very good and had lots to do, I recommend for young families.

We really enjoyed our trip to Budapest zoo, there are tons of animals and it's fairly large. A lot of the information about the animals was in Hungarian which meant the experience was a little dimmed but still an excellent visit. Plan a fair few...More

So I read reviews and we were really excited to go, we planned to spend most of our day there. Quite straight forward getting there and getting tickets (queued for 5 minutes) - although a little rude. We did the first section and it was...More
