Around 10 years back, the local football team moved their UEFA Champions League qualifying match against Man United from their home ground to this stadium in order to accommodate a 40,000 crowd. They also recored a famous 1-0 win against them.

We visited because Ferencvaros have been using the old stadium while their ground is redeveloped. It was fun, not least because the Fradi won, but also a reminder of what football was like before the EPL sanitised it.

I visited this stadium during a normal morning, so the stadium was closed and as a result there were no matches scheduled but in any case it is possible to access the area surrounding it and climb the staircase leading up to the steps by which it has a remarkable panoramic views across the playing field and the stands. I have been many times here. I have visited Rolling Stones concert, Tina Turner concert and many football games. The stadium is a retro-type layout, but the sound and atnmosphere is fantastic even with fewer attendance. I have been full house game here 3 times (Hngary vs Italy, Hungary vs Portugal, Hungary vs. Turkey). Nice experience. Unfortunately nowadays the upper... More
