Many concrete. Newly rebuilded fortress. The restaurant 1552 is really enjoyable. You have to pay for the walking as well.

The Castle was really interesting and full of so much history. Being able to walk on sites they are still excavating is quite thrilling.

Apart from having some interesting exhibitions inside inner castle (most of them of extra charge), this castle has some impressive views over town of Eger. Not too crowded, it was a very pleasant and leisurely visit. Good restaurant on site too.

Expect to spend several hours at this site. A large site, there are multiple exhibits to view (most include interactive sections) all over the old walled fortress. Dungeon, cannons, stone wall lookouts, chapel ruins: displays inform the historical and social importance. Well worth the admission...More

Excluding Budapest, this is the largest castle we visited in Hungary. Prices are a bit high though...

Nice historical place, another page in Hungary's history. Another discovery for me. I spent couple of hours to walk in castle and looking from above to the nice panorama.

Though it looks nice Eger Castle is not worth a visit. For Hungarians it is a remembrance how the Turkish siege came to an end but foreigners don't share the same historical feeling.

Beautiful castle with interesting underground section and great views. There is a restaurant on site and local snack too. Great not only for history lovers.

The castle is in amazing condition, you can view a lot of rooms and plenty of exhibitions from the renaissance to the '40s. The view from the castle over the city is breathtaking.
