Choose from one of the cafes or just stroll around, Szentendre main square will be a delight. the surrounding narrow streets are full of (positive) surprises, too.

Very interesting very old town. I was impressed with the little town and their decorating. Liked the giant lampshades across the walks

It is a very Greek vilage with all time classic Northern Greece's (Μακεδονία) houses. A must go vilage for tourists. It remind me, my house in Kozani, Greece.

We have visited the square during the carnaval. The ambiance was great. People had beautiful masks and the street food was good.

It is the central square of the Szentendre (St. Andrew), which used to be the foreign merchants' enclave. It is charming, it is quaint, it is close to Budapest. Go by train, and return by ship. Other way round the ship trip takes twice as long, as you will be fighting the mighty Danube.

It is a real shame that one of Hungary's prettiest towns, perhaps the prettiest of all, is so poorly administered by local authorities. Main square and main streets very uncomfortable due to mud, ice, snow. Does anyone take care of the village? Shop opening times also not the ones one would expect from a major tourist destination. At night, what... More

Szentendre is a little picturesque town close to Budapest. Suburban railways (HEV) from Buda side of Margit bridge is the best, cheapest and easiest way to get there. It is like an open air museum with old houses, narrow streets, cafes, restaurants and churches. It is an important place in Serbian history too, as many Serbs settled there at the... More

Such a pretty little town. Try not to miss when visiting Budapest. How i always imagined rural Hungary to be......peaceful, beautiful and friendly with lots of paprika.

Despite the cold, this village square is nice place to spend the afternoon or evening. It offers a quaint and small village type feeling. Buy yourself a forralt bor and walk up and down the square and by the river. Then when you get very cold, go into the Mazipan cafe, next the museum and have a coffee, tea or... More
