Szentendre is a riverside town in Pest county, near the capital city Budapest. It is known for its museums (most notably the Open-Air Ethnographic Museum), galleries, and artists. Szentendre has been the home of many generations of Hungarian artists since the early 20th century. There are many museums and contemporary galleries representing the rich traditions of the visual art as... More

We planned to take kids to Szentendre (Sentandreja in Serbian), so they can see the piece of their history. Szentendre was established by Serbs by approval of Austrian empress. The town itself is a museum in the open as it retains all the original architecture and streets. The church is at the centre of that history and the town itself.... More

Was quite taken by the iconography inside this Serbian Orthodox church. Had not seen anything like it before.

The church is located in the city center, it's really hard to miss it if you visit Szentendre. It's an authentic part of the city view, but if you want to see more interesting churches I suggest to visit Budapest (especially the "Pest" side of the city.

This is not the most excisting church to visit. I suggest if you want to see grand churches it is better to focus on those in Budapest.
