If you stay at the River Hotel, great if not it is a little to far to walk to, except if you are a sculpture lover like me then go for it

We walked there from the city center (about 20 minutes) and we were lucky enough that it was open and the gate keeper told us the story of how the place has been saved. It was very moving and meaningful to pray there. (for those...More

It's part of the old jewish cemetery that last till nowadays. One of the tombs is Chatam Sofer's. It's open for public- you will have to contact the person who will open the place and guide you through.

Enormous effort was required to preserve at least part of this historic burial ground of a once important Jewish community. Both vast engineering feats and political persuasion were needed against the encroachment of a highway project and Communist disinterest.
