The Grassalkovich Palace in Bratislava is the residence of the president of Slovakia. It is situated on Hodžovo námestie, near the Summer Archbishop's Palace and is roughly halfway between the main railway station and the old town. The building is a Rococo-late Baroque summer palace with a French garden and is a beautiful and impressive building. It reminded me a... More

Lovely building right along the main road from train station to downtown. There is a nice park/public space behind it. View from the front through the gates is nice. We were lucky to see the changing of the guard both on our way into town and on our way out again. Fun.

The Presidential palace is a lovely building, surrounded by gardens that are open to the public. It makes a beautiful background for photographs.

Passed this beautiful palace on our way into the old town. The palace is majestic and very impressive with two guards standing to attention outside.

We were on our way towards the centre when we happened upon the Changing of the guard. My 4 year old was enthralled seeing the soldiers marching. The building from the outside is beautiful. My understanding is they do the changing on the hour, so if you are passing well worth trying to catch.

My understanding is that the President works in this building and when he is there, there are guards out front and that is how you can tell the difference. I enjoyed seeing the Slovakia equivalent of the White House.

Came Out of the Hotel and notice across the road a Palace like Building, asked the Concierge of the Hotel what it was and he said it is the Presidential Palace. Well maintained and well positioned for tourists to see easily. Well worth a view.

We were heading to FABRIKA The Beer Bar and as this beautiful palace is close by payed it a visit. The home of the president the palace looks very eye catching and the garden look well kept . The palace offers great photographic opportunities but there is no admittance so I could only take photos from a distance. Very easy... More
