There is nothing exceptional about this bridge or it's history that couldn't be said about almost every pre-war bridge in Europe, it was built, the Nazi's blew it up during the war, it was re-built, not much more to say about it really.

The bridge brings you across the Neman River into the old town of Kaunas. Busy traffic bridge, but still interesting.

It's a fairly odd-looking bridge, seems sturdy! Lots of cobwebs on it. Takes you from Old Town across to the Aleksotas funicular and hill, which is worth seeing!

Nothing is special about it, but nice view point over part of the city. Nearby, a nice church and the old town.

The bridge is just a bridge. Do yourself a favor and go visit the hill, Aleksotas Hill, directly behind and above the bridge and be rewarded with a wonderful view of Kaunas (Kovno). As nature lovers and mountain hikers, my wife and I agreed that...More
