The cozy forecourts surrounding the museum buildings send out special feeling and originality of the old-town. There are more than 7000 exhibits collected in the museum. The collections include all kinds of Lithuanian, nationwide and other cultures music instruments, sound recordings, photos, letters, cards, placards and other archives.

There are many lithuanian folk instruments in this museum. Some of them you can try to play and some of the instruments are recorded and can be heard by wearing headphones. The museum is like a story of lithuanian folk music. In the museum can...More

The entrance fee was inexpensive at 1 euro 60 cents. The main part of the museum is in an old barn and locked when there are no visitors. We had a guide included in our entrance price, who showed us around and spoke good English....More
