Cyclists' easy day trip along the 50km spit, just glorious!

First of all, the Curonian spit is 98 km long, but from Klaipeda the Lithuanian side only 50km is possible since the rest belongs to Russia. If you come to Klaipeda or Lithuania, this is bound to be your unforgettable experience. Despite the 5-10 degrees temperature in early April, it's still possible to finish the ride joyfully if the weather... More

If you have no time for Nida or Juodkrante, just take a 5 mins ferry over from the Old Terminal in Klaipeda to Smiltyne. It's a nice stroll through the pine forest to the sea coast. Off season on a weekday you would hardly meet anyone, it's so serene and peaceful.

We rented a car in Klapedia and took the ferry over to the Spit. Drove down to Nida with the hope that my friend could rent a bike to ride back to Smiltyne. No bike shops open, only one restaurant in Nida. The dunes were lovely and there is a cool little wooden church in Nida. Good afternoon, but only... More

Absolutely amazing place! The smell of the forest mixed with fresh sea air is amazing. I would say, you can spend a great time there in any time of the year! Perfect place if you want to stay alone for a while or just to have a rest of the rapid life in a city. There are some cosy towns... More

Absolutely enjoyed a refreshed 5 miles walk under the sun listening to the sea and feel the water so close... Get the ferry from harbor for 0.8€ return ticket scheduled every hour departure and enjoy listening to the sea!

This was a rather long bus tour from our ship dock, but saw lots of great scenery, several small towns, and a most interesting huge sundial at the end of the spit. The whole place is almost like a step back in time. Everything seems so laid back, peaceful, and clean. Some of the views were amazing. Very enjoyable.

Amazing view, especially in Nida from the highest dune, you can see the sea and the lagoon and the dunes look like some desert. The small fishin villages also look nice

While on a cruise which stopped in the port city of Klaipėda on the mainland of Lithuania, my wife and I rented a car and took a ferry over to The Curonian Spit. This approximately 100km long, thin, curved sand-dune spit that separates the Curonian Lagoon from the Baltic Sea coast. The spit is a UNESCO World Heritage Site shared... More
