Went there early morning, not crowded and it was a nice climb through a park. However, there is a construction going on, and I understand the funicular train is closed. So you need to climb a wide path of cobblestone slope.

Fine view over the city. Easy to appreciate its strategic significance. Be a bit careful when walking on the stoned path.

Walking up the cobblestone trail to the tower is steep and taxing but the view from the top is great, you can have a first hand look at the river and the town. Worth the effort!
