The building, it's history and the exhibit itself left us with awe. The admission fee €14 is maybe a bit high in Estonian standards but worth it. We visited only the hangar building which contains i.e. ice sailing vessels, light sailboats, navigational aides and an interesting special exhibition on marine rescue. There is a pre-ww II submarine inside the building... More

We spent a good couple of hours here looking at all the interesting exhibits. The highlight was going inside a submarine. Not too far from the old town- we walked in about 25 minutes. Well worth a visit.

I visited new exhibition Mayday, mayday, mayday! It was really interesting, I am a bit sad that I hadn't more time there, because there were lots of facts and information to read through. If you go there, take time, because there is a lots to see. When there is a new exhibition, I will definitely go there again.

Not a seaplane in sight - except the replica hanging from the ceiling - but loads of boats and a submarine you can climb into. Plus a flying simulator. A good day out and a nice restaurant with reasonable prices. Pay a little extra and your ticket will include the Fat Margaret Tower Museum as well.

It majored on a submarine and nautical stuff. Some of the content was domestic for Estonia and not particular interesting. The ships outside were inaccessible except for one and that was very limited, These were largely ships given to Estonia when other countries finished with them. However, the inside was very innovatively displayed and it was worth the admission. We... More

I am sorry to hear that you did not have quite the experience you were hoping for. As the Estonian Maritime Museum our main objective is to convey Estonian maritime history. That is why our exhibition concentrates on Estonia and the exhibits are, in one way or another, related to our history. Hopefully you also boarded our 100-year-old icebreaker Suur... More

We walked to the museum from the old town, it takes about 25mins from the main square. The building is beautifully restored and the exhibits are really well thought out and presented. I had never seen ice sailing boats before! The May Day exhibit was really insightful. Don't forget the icebreaker ship outside around the back! Good place to pass... More
