For Tartu, or any other city for that matter, to have a known site escape the authoritarian communist city planning is a miracle! This one is definitely one. Simple, elegant, and different. It also has scerts of its own. It is now Lutherian but was found 300 year or so before Luther was born. Even, her style defies logic of... More

This is a must see in Tartu. This medieval church has now been renovated and looks surprisingly beautiful! you can visit it for free, but you have to pay if you want to take pictures.

The oldest church in town was bombed in WW2, and has been interestingly renovated so you can tell the old and new parts apart. You can climb to the bell tower for 2 euro, but the view wasn't that great.

I'd love to be there again. Very quiet place and historical building as well. The best way to find a beat of ancient history of Tampliers in the heart of Estonia,

One of the oldest churches in Estonia that regulary holds a very good live concerts. Usually it's classical instrumental or choir music. If you plan to visit it I suggest to choose a concert evening - the acoustics is very good.

The Church is active - you can visit the service. There is an interesting stairs into the belfry - extremely tight (especially at the highest levels). It isn't the highest but it's extremely cheap.

Great terracota faces on exterior and wonderful concerts inside. One of the finest example of brick gothic churches I hve seen.

Amazing interior, you feel like few hundred years ago - ask to let you in up the tower, some incredible view from up top.

This church has a very frugal, but also harmonious style. The collection of ceramic figures is really unique. But be aware you have to pay for making photos!
