I went to see the " Marriage of Figaro". Spend EUR 7.00 show lasted more then 3 hours. even if you are not an opera fan, i would say it is a must visit.

Building is wonderful inside and outside. Cosy chairs and amazing performances.I recommend to visit Latvian National Opera if you are experienced opera fan.

Great opera!! Great decor, great performers, great costumes! Three hours seems long, but it was not long at all. (2 pauses). I liked the modern way of presenting this opera.

Yes, there are English surtitles for all opera performances. But due to technical reasons you can't see them from all seats. If you want to see translation don't choose seats in the 2nd and 3d row in side boxes and starting... More

Website very easy to use and to buy your tickets. Just type in Latvian national opera house and then in top right corner you can change language to English. Hope you enjoy it, we did!
How strictly is the dress code enforced? - I am planning just to take carry on luggage so not sure about packing a dark suit!
