This museum is in a beautiful building. Very nice art with explanations provided in Latvian and English. They have several floors of permanent collection and some temporary exhibits as well.

You will not regret spending a couple of hours or more here. There are some stunning artworks spanning the different areas of latvian history. It's a beautiful building in itself.

This museum is a beautiful building in itself and the collection is of high quality...but what unhappy people are the latvians! Most paintings I saw, whether they were from communist times or recent years, were full of unhappiness and pessismism.
