Quite an interesting open air museum showing the lifestyle of olden days..what I enjoyed more was the greenery and the abundant fresh air, away from the city. Good to take a break and enjoy a leisure walk in the museum grounds and enjoy a lunch...More

It was sunny October day. we arrived after lunch time and explored the area by ourselves. interesting. All my life i spent in urban areas. Timber houses built many years ago give feeling of another life.

Great place. So much history. Half a day well spent in idyllic scenery. There seems to be a problem after the end of September- no where to get a coffee or something to eat. Plenty of signs for cafe but no cafe in reality. Also...More

I absolutely loved this place, it was one of the highlights during my trip to Latvia. The forest is so peaceful and being there in a quiet Monday felt like time traveling! If you are into history and/or architecture do not miss it!!

Sort of dependent on the weather, but the day we visited it was sunny and cool—perfect. I loved this place, as when I visit a new country I want to learn as much as I can about the history and the people. This is about...More

The museum consists of groups of houses built on an immense area. A beautiful collection with a big variety of buildings. There are places to sit and have a drink but toilets are scarce (there are toilets close to the entrance)

No - but there is a cafe bar at the entrance who might help if you ask them. Alternatively you could leave them at Riga railway station as they assuredly do have left luggage.
