This area has the feel of parts of the Latin Quarter in Paris. Intricate carvings, figurines, pastels, facades on many types of buildings. You can wander and just look up in amazement at the beauty of this restored district in the heart of Riga.

The most beautiful district I´ve ever seen. It is like being at an Architecture Open Air Museum! Walk it all around and admire lots of beautiful buildings. You can also find quite nice places to eat.

The Jugendstijl is everywhere from massively decorated - more belle époque fronts to the clean and classic Bauhaus look but all built from around 1915 to the 1930s. Very interesting

Although many buildings are under innovation at the moment, it is still worth visiting. Pay attention to the details of the ornaments - Art Deco at its best.

This museum gives a very good view on the original Jugendstil interior. All room are perfectly decorated with a lot of details. Itvis not crowded, so you enjoy the sight. As an extra you can picture yourselve with a Jugendstil hat.

Sorry, these old streets are very uneven and a lot of them are cobblestones that could be problematic for you. Perhaps your best bet would be the red hop on and off bus tour that has headphones in every language and see the... More
