Truly spectacular. We did the classic route which took around 1h45 and it was incredible. Really engaging and interesting guide and stunning rock formations. The no cameras rule worked well too as you truly looked at the sites. Well worth it’s UNESCO status!

We recently visited both Part 1 and Part 2 of the Škocjan cave system while staying in Vipava Valley on our honeymoon. I admit I was a little skeptical about spending the better part of the day touring a cave, however it was actually really...More

The caves, including a massive underground canyon, are spectacular. The Park does a great job of balancing accessibility and preservation. Guided tours are offered in at least 4 languages (Slovenian, German, Italian, and English). The main guided walk is a couple hours of moderate physical...More

I have ankle issues but I am so glad that I pushed myself to do this beautiful cave ( around 500 steps). They have a funicular to get back. It was spectacular. We did path 1 only due to my ankle.

We visited this cave after the bigger and more touristy Postojna one - and this one here we all liked much more. Not so busy, the cave is really really impressive - with the river inside, the old walkways opposite visible - it was really...More

This UNESCO site certainly deserves the recognition. The caves were something out of Journey to the Center of the Earth. The two different areas (Silent Cave and Murmuring Cave) are a great contrast . When you look back in the huge Murmuring cave the lights...More

Most people visit Postojna caves, instead of Skocjan caves. However, Skocjan caves seemed more unique and beautiful. It is worth visiting. In fact, a person can easily visit Skocjan caves, postojna caves and predjama castle in a single day. There are two or three different...More

I visited this UNESCO world heritage site with my wife and sister in law. The visitor centre was very smart and well presented, as well as being very reasonably priced. There is a choice of guided tour, we chose the medium "classic" tour, which took...More

As Andrej replied, Skocjan will be tough for you. There are different routes, even ones catered for children, but your safest bet would be to contact them. On the other hand, the entry/exit to Postojna caves is via a train... More

As others have posted, you have nothing to worry about. Highly unlikely to encounter any. These caves are a wonder, experience is phenomenal!
