Would like to recommend to see those caves. Getting inside lighting just a candle atmosphere is strange. Rely only on the guide accompanying. There's one temperature all year long inside. Caves consist of several narrow and not so narrow, high ceiling and very low ceiling dark places. There are as well some little animals living. Hope it's safe to walk... More

6€ per person. Excursion in Latvian, Russian, and English. Interesting place, still there should be done some improvements.

I just loved it. If you are in Kuldiga you definitely have to visit the caves. They are closed during winter as the bats use them as their home. The guide tells you all about them and you are inside for about an hour. To reach them you have to walk through the forest for 400m from the car park,... More

we eagered to visit the sand caves for a really long time, and finally it came true! the attraction is easy to find if you are visiting Ventas rumba, you have to take first left turn just after the bridge and ride about 5 km. There is a parking place and then you must go by foot. The road is... More

The caves are a great place to escape a hot summer day, but it's a good idea to bring a shirt or a jacket as the temperature stays at 8℃ all year round. The tour is a mix of interesting facts and silly local traditions. Their brochure gives pretty accurate description of what it's like. Even with all the silliness,... More

Nice place to visit. Guides are playful will throw few jokes. Also you will learn history about sand mining and glass making.

The first time we were in such a place. Interesting... Feelings can not be described. Those who are having Claustrophobia better not to enter! But in very hot summer days this tour ir refreshing.

For a very friendly price you can experience quite unique trip with a guide who knows their story in more languages than I can remember. The caves have something magical about them, and most people no matter their age are amazed by this place. You should stay away if you're afraid of tight places, though.

The sand caves are located in a nice forest area a few kilometers out of Kuldiga. We took this tour without a guide by mistake as we did not know that we have to wait for one, so after while, we discovered that we could not find the way back as we got lost in the maze and we only... More

The price is 6 eur per person (apr2015), but just adults; for children entrance was for free. I liked that feeling is like in real caves and those are different what have seen in Latvia or around world. We get inside caves with candles and during whole time get reminding that have to be careful with light. Nice that guide... More
