Really - it's the bridge that gives the town its name! You can't miss it! The bridge offers a lovely view of the surrounding area.

These markets are held every second Monday (two a month) in the centre of town. The markets were not what we expected but they were interesting. My wife was expecting stalls selling local crafts etc but there were none. The markets are huge. Predominantly selling...More

The eponymous bridge is a delight. The view of the town from the North side is particularly special. When we were there, there were fairy lights at night and piped music which, surprisingly, we found charming rather than annoying. Worth a journey to see and...More

It's a bridge over a lovely river. Great town to meander around. The gardens are worth a stroll around too. Parking close to the bridge so easy to find. Well worth a look if you're in a campervan.

If you’re staying in Ponte de Lima, make sure to visit the bridge and the church just across from it. There’s also a toy museum and a regional museum on that side (both charge and admission fee) and some beautiful botanical gardens to the right...More

This surprised me as from a distance I thought it was a road bridge. It isn’t, it is a foot bridge which I believe is a Roman Bridge. I thoroughly enjoyed a walk across it and the views on either side. A must if you...More

The bridge is wonderful to walk across in the late morning before everyone is outside. There is music coming from the overhead lamps. No lightbulbs but radios. Terrific views up and down the river.

A short trip from Viana to a small town with a Roman bridge dating back to 1014AD. The village was once a major agriculture center and shipped its produce down the river to the port of Viana. You can walk the bridge as it is...More

Lovely old Roman bridge, after which the town is named. Walked across it while walking the Camino. It contributes to the town's character and charm.

Ponte de Lima was much better than we expected and the roman/medieval bridge dominates the view of the town from either side of the river. The town itself has a number of historical buildings and many places to drink/eat and it is certainly worth taking...More
