Walking from across the river, one gets a great view of the city. The bridge has nice views of the Roman general staute on one side and the army on the other - recounting the history of The legend refusing to cross until a miracle...More

This is a beautiful old bridge, now pedestrianised over the R Lima. There are a few shops and cafeas well as a beautiful garden and old church on the other side. Well looked after and popular with locals and tourists alike

Amazing structure with so much history. From Ponte de Lima and crossing the bridge you find yourself going back in time. Great to enjoy the beauty of the bridge in day and night

Until the Middle Ages, this was the only bridge crossing the River Lima. It formed part of the Roman military road from Braga to Astorga. The bridge, now enhanced by a more modern extension, is the centrepoint for many tourist attractions in this charming town.

I’m a Peregrino and seen many old bridges on my way and this is perhaps one the the top ones. The history surround it and after all these years still standing is magnificent.

Nice heritage left from ancient civilization. They used to say that who would cross the river would loose their memories. Nice to see among the dozens of people crossing the bridge the pilgrims walking to Santiago.
