We wanted to see Staubbach waterfalls as one of our destination as I heard that this is one of the most famous one in Laturbrunnen. Thus we made the plan for Lauterbrunnen and Sulwald day trip from Brienz, where we were staying. On a sunny day during our Easter holidays at Switzerland, we started from Brintz by Interlakhen-Lucern express at... More

We used Lauterbrunnen as our base and visited other areas easily including: Interlaken, Murren, Gimmelwald and Grindlewald. Train travel was easy and enjoyable. One evening we dined at a campground restaurant and were delighted to see the varied options of lodging in the area. Hiking, waterfalls, and zipline in Grindlewald were highlights of our stay. Hotel Staubbach is highly recommended... More

As we drove into Lauterbrunnen, the sun was shining through this waterfall creating a wonderful rainbow of color. We didn't know it was this waterfall until we took the time as we were leaving to drive and walk up by it. We parked in a parking lot close to the church (and the Hotel Horner). It isn't too expensive and... More

Walked to see this waterfall every day that we stayed in Lauterbrunnen. It is beautiful and can be seen from almost anywhere in the village. Sheep were grazing the meadow below the waterfalls when we visited and that just added to the overall beauty!

Cool falls you can see from anywhere in Lauterbrunnen. Its a nice little hike up to go behind the falls and gives you a great view of the town.

This is the most scenic waterfall in Lauterbrunnen. When you arrived to the centre of Lauterbrunnen this will be visible for you. If you want to go near to the waterfall, there is a steep walk path starting from the main road.

This is easy to get to and well worth the trip. You can hike up and get BEHIND the 900 foot waterfall to look down into the meadow below. (See picture).

The Staubbach falls are the largest waterfalls in the valley and well worth the short but steep walk up to the walkway which goes behind the falls. You also get great views of Lauterbrunnen and the valley from a different perspective.

Staubach Fall can be seen from a long distance because is comes from the top of the cliff. It is a nice walk , next to the cemetery. There is a water fountain with drinkable water before the path to the top, where you can see the Lauterbrunnen valley and you are behind the water curtains of the waterfall! Just... More

People often say that Switzerland is expensive - well, here is somewhere that you can visit that is completely free! And not only that, it is simply stunning too. There are walking sticks available in a box at the base of the path to borrow if you need them to assist in the climb up the path, and more importantly... More
