While the weather could have been better the route, accommodation, meals and guide - Merlin (a wizard) - were wonderful. We must congratulate Steve for having the foresight to recruit Merlin on the strength of a Skype interview: our guide was GREAT! Keep him on your books, Steve!

We did the four day three night guided trek. While it was muddy and wet the whole time, Merlin our guide managed to keep the group together and developed a good rapport with all participants. The water transport to and from the walk was good and on time and when we were running late, Merlin was able to phone ahead... More

Having never kayaked before I did a lot of gym work before coming to NZ and I just loved the gentle paddle around the bush across the Sound and into many inlets with bird calls and so quiet. The four hour walk was also amazing with constantly changing views of the water and the bush.

We booked our 4x4 sightseeing tour direct with the company, much cheeper than going through the ship. Its a short trip up a very steep hill to the top of the lookout, the view is absolutely breathtaking, our guide was extremely informative and new the answers to every question we asked. Total time was about 1.5 hrs, most of which... More

Can't say enough good things about the first-class service from the staff, their selection of lodgings, choice of ferries and the well-maintained Kona Kahuna 29ers. Booking on the net from the U.S., we give high compliments for their timely and detailed communications. The Queen Charlotte Track is a challenging 71k ride plus a couple of side excursions with the consensus... More

My (new!) husband and I rented a double kayak to explore Marlborough Sounds for a day. Our safety and equipment briefing was excellent with the right mix of knowledge and fun. The staff member that helped us was really friendly and professional. An excellent ambassador for the NZ adventure tourism industry. Thanks so much for an outstanding experience.

It was a little harder than anticipated being quite hot for NZ at the time of our 4-Day Guided Classic Walk. Our expert guide was unflappable considering he was surrounded by 12 middle-aged mothers at the height of excitement being away from their normal mundane city/family existence. The accommodation and food were top-notch and the scenery - just unbelievable at... More

With Picton's beautiful roads and trails - no need for a guide. Marty fitted us with bikes, and give us a map, and we were off. 1.5 hours on trails and roads out to Karaka Point (follow the Waikawa bay track, along the spine of the ridge for great views!) Stop for lunch on the way back at Jolly Rogers... More
