The Cougar Line is a great service to transport you to the start of the Queen Charlotte Track and also organise your bags to be transported to your accommodation each day. The service was faultless and well organised.

Good service and clear instruction was given for passengers. Safe ride and reasonable prices. Was flexible too as they accomodated our change of plans when there was heavy rain in the morning. They suggested alternative activities for those who were unwilling to trek in the rain. Overall it was a great experience.

Anyone wanting to experience the famous Marlborough Sounds at firsthand is strongly recommended to do so on one of the Cougar Line's (easily found on the waterfront) 3 hour 'Delivery' cruises (NZ$85 per adult). Besides having excellent staff - both on and off shore - one of the main reasons for doing so is that no trip is the same!... More

I can't recommend the folk at Cougar Line enough. They run lunch cruises throughout Queen Charlotte Sound and also arrange transport to and from the start of the Queen Charlotte track for walkers. Not only did they drop us at the start of the track, then then arranged to transport our bags to our accommodation each night along the track.... More

Having arrived on the InterIsland Ferry from Wellington into Picton we had no idea how often this water taxi service ran to take us to the Bay of Many Coves Resort. We could not find a pubic timetable. However, after a few minutes a boat arrived but was not going to our destination at that time. We were told they... More

You could walk the whole 71 km track if you're in a good shape but there are better, I mean, more diverse walks on the south island. A much better option and suitable for all ages is to take the 10.00 am Cougar boat to Resolution Bay which is a nice cruise. From there you can walk in 3 hours,... More

These guys transported me to ship cove to the start of the queen Charlotte track to continue my Te Araroa hiking experience in New Zealand and I was met with exceptional kiwi hospitality and enjoyed the ride through the beautiful Marlborough sounds, great boat, great staff. Thank you.

We walked the QC Track over 5 days using Cougar Line services from Picton to Ship Cove for us to walk and then pack transfer to Madsens Camp, Camp Bay, Torea Bay jetty (pick up from Portage Hotel for small fee), Mistletoe and last stop Anakiwa. Worked well arriving to packs already there and just had to have them ready... More

We went as part of a day-trip excursion offered by our cruise ship. This was a custom tour organized by Cougar Lines, and was shorter than their normal trip offerings. However, we had a lovely boat ride across the Sound to Mistletoe Harbor, and a great (though too short) walk around the peninsula there. The boat ride was very scenic,... More

We used Cougar Lines to get from Picton to Bay of Many Coves Resort, and they were excellent! We were slightly delayed from the InterIslander ferry, but phoned ahead and they made special provision for us, picking us up from the ferry terminal instead. The staff are great, friendly and very helpful.
