Loved the scenic Queen Charlotte Track

Yes it is a long way to walk but the views are definitely worth it. There is also the added bonus of a comfy bed and hot shower along the way.

Used Beachcomber Cruises and well worth it ..Four and a half hour cruise around the sounds. This is a family run business and for the price and the quality I fully recommend it . The Captain was so informative about the area..This was the highlight of our holiday

Absolutely Amazing
Feb 2021
I absolutely love the Marlborough Sounds ++. We stayed on Kenepuru Sound and the scenery is absolutely stunning. We had beautiful gorgeous sunny days and it made me want to go and live there. The silence, the birdsong, the clear beautiful water, the different inviting bays in the sounds, and the colours- Kenepuru is turquoise blue while Queen Charlotte is navy blue. There are ample and beautiful walks around the sounds. Not a lot of people around when we went. The places that are only accessible on the Sounds must be on another level. I will definitely return one day and stay longer than the couple of days we had and get out on the water.

Stunning Scenery
Feb 2021
What a stunning place to spend time in. We passed through many bays but stopped in Elaine Bay for a couple of nights - just beautiful scenery, watched stingrays in the water and got a couple of swims in. Drove through to French Pass - stunning scenery again - took the road out towards Kenepuru, didnt finish the drive so will be back to explore around there, again the scenery was wow. The drive from Picton to Whites Bay via Whaikawa and Whatamango Bays - stunning scenery all the way, What a beautiful place that needs more exploring.

sightseeing and fishing

fabulous places to see. Lovely birds and landscape. We had a pod of around 50 bottlenose dolphins playing around our boat. Friendly people and lovely places to stay.

It's always beautiful in the sounds.
Good to drive right round and stop for an ice cream. There's lots of play areas, fishing spots and walking tracks. Love it!

A magical place to visit
Dec 2020
A magical place to visit, if all you did was to view it as you sail across with the ferry from Wellington to Picton it'll be already a great experience, that's how we experienced it to start... it is breathtaking ...The ferry moves so slowly through the Queen Charlotte Sound that it allows you to take it all in...if on top of that you take a tour or a hike it'll be even better!

Marlborough Icons
Nov 2020
"Marlborough Icons" - A great tour, wine tasting in this famous wine growing area followed by lunch and a beautiful guided cruise around the Marlborough sounds, seeing salmon and green mussel farms, dolphins and other sea life. Beautiful seafood tasting on board. A super day organised by great staff.
