This is definitely the best Sound we have ever visited. The views are stunning and there are so many places where it can be enjoyed.

Queen Charlotte sound is a lovely place. The walking track is scenic but the best scenery is seen from the water. There are boats to rent, water taxis and all sorts of on water excursions so check them out.

Pick a nice sunny day and the scenery is as good as gets. There are various ways to see the Sound and of course a cruise is best but you get some great views and a feel for the place from Karaka Point and Waikawa...More

We enjoyed the views in Charlotte Sound. The views of the summer houses were beautiful. If was a bit crowded on the upper level of the boat, but was the best place to take pictures.

This is where all the action is; the Ferry, the biggest town, the best restaurants and the most water transport options.

comparing to doubtful or milford sound, it is a far less interesting attraction. However, if you have some time in Picton it is worth exploring by boat or by car and get some amazing pics, all year round.

We stayed at the awful Brydon Accomodations in Blenheim, which I can't recommend! There were some nice wineries in the area, if I was returning I would look at one of those.
