I don't have a previous experience visiting a church in the Caribbean, so I definitely found the architecture and certain particular details interesting. Moreover, I was impressed by the social activity that seemed to be taking place in the church that Sunday afternoon - the mass was clearly already over, but people were casually sitting in circles, chatting away. It... More

If you go to Holquin, this church is a must to visit, it has fantastic and beautiful architecture, and once in side it give off a certain presence that gives you a tranquil and calming feel. Just sitting there makes you forget any worries you have. Please note the statutes and paintings dotted around. Such a calming place well worth... More

We went there for the Christmas Mass at 9;00am just three days ago. A very nice little old church in the middle of the city and close to the Cathedral, where you can admire the Pope Juan Pablo's statue. After visiting both churches we had lunch at the San Jose Restaurant at one of the Church's laterals streets.

Twenty years on from the thaw between Castro and the Church and this rather nice, if unfinished, church is now slowly being renovated.

It is a nice old church... something that you probably wouldn't expect in a communist country. On the other hand Cuba is a catholic country, so visit at the San Jose Church is highly recommended to experience the local spirit.

In a Catholic nation, one of many churches in the city. The interior is classic, austere, but a nice spot to stop and reflect during a hot day or following a long hike.
