I am in the border of Nevada City, in a small wooden house where I rent a room. In the middle of the ghosts of the pioneers, There is a music, it sings the soul of ancestors, the cold water of the river and the loves lost. I want to bathe in Yuba River because it is the summer, because... More

Start out from the Yuba River covered bridge spot. This is the longest covered bridge in the WORLD! Very Bridges of Madison County. Then walk out from the farthest trail out from the parking area, away from the river and up the hill. It is in the middle of a field so counterintuitive. You'll wind up a little and then... More

I have been going to the river ever since I was a little kid. I never cease to be amazed by the beauty and power of this river. There are many different places to gain access to the Yuba and all have their virtues and drawbacks. My personal favorite is the Hwy 49 bridge. I enjoy the swimming holes in... More

Take a drive on Highway 49 just outside of Nevada City and you will come to the Yuba River Park and follow it to where the old Yuba bridge crosses the road and you can turn off and park in the lot and walk across the bridge to see the wonderful Yuba River. The rock formations are so stunning and... More

My brother and I decided that getting to Burning Man at 2am Sat morning and tripping around the playa for two intense days and then sitting in traffic back to the Bay Area for a long time would be too much. Labor day weekend is supposed to be somewhat relaxing and that would require more than three days at BM.... More

This natural water park is one of Northern California's gems. I went for the first time at the end of August and scrambled over the beautiful, smooth granite rock formations that lead to private swimming holes with waterfall back massagers and pristine blue water. It gets busy in the afternoon near the popular entrances, but the water was still warm... More

Camping on the Yuba River at Sycamore Ranch. What a great location. The sites are nice, level, and can accommodate larger RV's though not in every site. Power is 30 amp and just OK. The water is awesome and the river is flowing at a good clip. Significantly higher than 2 weeks ago!
