This was booked as part of an epic trip for a 60th birthday for someone who loves trains, and it was very disappointing. The service started off 3 hours late, with no explanation. The train is filthy and desperately in need of updating. The door...More

We got a sleeper car (bedroom) for a weekend trip from Sacramento to Portland. "Loved it" would definitely do it again. I am really glad that we got the bedroom versus the couchette - much larger and really comfortable. Meals were fine - lots of...More

This is my third time on the Starlight over the past 15 years. It still is an adventure, but the condition of the train has declined, as has the food and the ride. The Starlight has a lays suffered from sharing its rails with freight...More

I went here with my Mom to go to Seattle. It was a little crazy, because we hit a car, then we hit a pipe and it broke the engine. They have you sit with other people on the train, and sometimes it can be...More

We took the train from Seattle to Los Angeles for a fun get away. The trip was 36 hours, just long enough to get the feel of train travel. The crew were really friendly and helpful. I enjoyed all the no-nonsense announcements given with a...More

So glad we decided on this train journey instead of flying to Seattle. So much to see and a lot more relaxing. Make sure you get a sleeper cabin as you get your own shower facilities etc. Food & non alcoholic drinks included in your...More

Superlative service. Good views of west coast. Food in dining room was good with courteous waitress. They take reservations which expiates service. If you have the time to travel, this is the mod comfortable and stress-free way to go! We will do it again.
