We've seen redwoods many times, but this 31 mile drive that parallels Highway 101 is truly astonishing in its beauty. The day we were there was wet, rainy, foggy--perfectly atmospheric. Pullouts and hiking trails abound to take in the majesty that surrounds visitors. We drove...More

This drive starts slow (if you're coming from the South) and slowly builds up to become more and more impressive. There are plenty of places to stop and take a walk and look at some beautiful trees and forest.

30 mile drive parallels Hwy 101 and is well worth the adventure. Exquisite trees and foliage is almost prehistoric and dreamlike.

We stayed in Eureka which was about a half hour north of the Avenue of the Giants. There are several hotels there. The Best Western Plus Bayshore Inn was pleasant with a room by the garden area. Hope you have a lovely trip.

That's a surprise to me. I'd suggest calling the state or possible the best western in Garberville. The BW makes their money on that drive, they should know the answer
