I have been living in the Sacramento area for over 20 years and have wanted to make it to Bodie. The trouble is, that it is not on the way to anywhere you are likely to be going (with the possible exception of Mono Lake)....More

If you're in this area of California, you should definitely visit Bodie. We were on a tight schedule so we couldn't stay as long as we wanted to. There is so much to see and it can very easily take up two or more hours...More

Visited in early May with snow still on the ground. Arrived quite early in the day and before peak season, so the village was indeed deserted (bar only 3-4 other people). The buildings are under a controlled decline, and park wardens have avoided the temptation...More

While it was really interesting to see this old town, I was disappointed in what little care this historic town is getting. Everything is full of dust and it seems like nothing is being talen care of. Dust contributes to the decay of the town...More

Well worth a visit to this historical town that is locked in time. I highly recommend the tour of the mine - check for the time of the tour. Take the weather into consideration when planning your trip. It's a beau
