One notch up from Cookie Cutter Fair

Plant City was suggested as a place near Lakeland that we might enjoy visiting. We were told that there was a very nice Historic downtown area. There is lots of parking lots scattered around the city, most being free. The downtown is actually very pleasant, but there are a limited number of shops open. There are lots of consignment shops,... Plant city is a small town with a big fairgrounds. Every March the streets are full and parking is a premium for 10 days of the Strawberry Festival. There are traffic jams galore. The main attraction is the Strawberry concocted in every way imaginable; including brittle, cookies, shakes, donuts, and my favorite shortcake. There all types of concessions serving everything... Seems like State Fairs and festivals are beginning to all look alike, same food, same prices, same rides. If this is your thing give the strawberry festival one notch up for it's theme related extras, plenty of strawberry stuff to eat, drink, buy and even a few rides. However, if you are looking for something different than the typical fair... More

I have heard about the Strawberry Festival every year since I purchased a vacation condo in Clearwater, Florida several years ago, but never had the chance to get to it. At the last minute, I decided to check it out on a Saturday - the last weekend of the festival. My advice? If you can go during the week, I... More

We are annual visitors to the Plant City Strawberry Festival for the music. They always offer an excellent variety of concerts at a reasonable price including free if you are willing to stand in the sometimes park long GA line.We saw Little Big Town Sunday night. They played an incredible set for over an hour and a half. The exhibits... More

We went to the Plant City Strawberry Festival in March of 2016, and plan to attend in 2017, too. Our main reason for going that time was to see Gene Watson who was playing there. But this time we'll go back regardless of whether we see someone entertain or not. It's a really fun time. Just make sure you allow... More

Visited Festival yesterday...gorgeous weather to walk around in. Same old/same old carnival food, rides. Saw Branch & Dean country singers..very good. Osmond Country singer and band not good at all in my opinion. Pig races, cow milking, good strawberry shortcake. Better to buy strawberries a few blocks away from Festival for best price/quality. Last year had nice looking strawberries on... More

Spent the day to listen to the free intertaining, eat strawberry shortcake, and sample fair food ...walk around and check out what the vendors offered. The shortcake was resonably priced and very good. Found the grounds and buildings to be very clean and we were very Impressed with the selection of free entertainment and the ample seating. We are from... More
