It hasn't changed at all in 30* years. Pictures look the same. Seems that even the birds are in the same location., sitting in the same nests. I spent a couple weeks here and a year on kure Atoll. The water is teaming with the largest lobster and fish I have seen anywhere in the Hawaiian islands. Nothing is touched... More

Great place to visit. There is history there. Relics from world war 2 can be seen everywhere. This attraction is a little remote. The location is not conducive to day trips from Waikiki or Poipu, but...If you have a few weeks in Hawaii to spare, this is a great place to see. Kind of like the Galapagos if you are... More

I spent 3 months here as the medical provider for the island. A welcome respite from the perils oh life working in a busy hospital. Everyone was extremely nice and very, very helpful. I volunteered with US Fish and Wildlife for 2 weeks to count Albatross on Midway Atoll. There are a few expedition type trips now available to get to Midway. If you have the opportunity to come, you will see one of the worlds densest concentration of birds: 21 species of seabirds commonly visit the Atoll, with 19 species nesting here.... More
