Nice drive but lacked the beauty we were expecting. I think it's mostly for off road enjoyment. It just can't compare with other scenic highways in Idaho like Salmon River, Hell's Canyon, City of Rocks & Sawtooth to name a few.

Owyhee Canyon's are a rugged outdoor play ground for all 4x4 enthusiasts and photographers. The roads can be muddy in the winter or dry and dusty in the summer. The feeling when traveling through the Owyhee's brings you back to the prehistoric times when dinosaurs roamed the earth. (Leslie Gulch and Succor creek).

My father used to loved visiting the canyon and looking for rocks, take pics and enjoy the beautiful scenery. I've been back a few times and I see many people camping, swimming and fishing. The lake is gorgeous and has a picnic area if you drive to the far side. The river is gorgeous and refreshing! Lots of places to... More
