Pristine at Premium Beauty

It's very beautiful and verey Pristine, but you have to be in pretty good shape or at least be with others who are. It's pretty wild.

This was my third week long trip into the BWCA. The end of August is a great time weather wise for visiting the boundary waters. The mosquitoes have died down and the nights are cool enough for great sleeping. The National forest does a great job of regulating the number of people in the area. The solitude, and the joy... Purchased a groupon for complete outfitting for Canadian Waters Canoe Outfitters. Great gear from them. My family enjoyed our 3 days 2 nights out in the BWCA for the first time. We can't wait to go back!

I love the BWCAW so much, I can't get enough of it. My favorite places are out of Ely, MN wit Hegman Lake at the top. All entry points are wonderful, it's really a matter of personal preference. September is ideal for me with May coming in a close second. Peace, tranquility and rejuvenation are my goals when going to... More

We spent only 4 nights there, what an experience. We we 4 and haven't met a soul until our last day there. Some of the portages were very painful (with our old heavy canoe) by the last day we were trying to avoid them at all cost! But we forgot all about the pain every time we stopped and took... More

We canoed and camped in the Boundary Waters with 'Way to go' outfitters. It was the best experience ever! Donna, Jeff and Jake Hway can only be described as the most down to earth, friendly and knowledgeable people on the Boundary Waters. If you love the wilderness, experience it with the Hways. They are the best. They also do sled... More

My wife, a friend, and myself camped out in the wilderness AUGUST 2014. The first night was creepy hearing all those sounds near the water knowing wild animals call it home. Eventually I fell asleep. The next morning we got a boat ride to the portage where we kayaked and canoed 2 miles. The next day we found a small... More

My husband and I traveled with our 22 year old son (some one has to carry the canoe). We stayed the night at the Clear Water lodge and entered the BWCAW early the next day. Our first portage was into south lake (entry point 58), we found a camp site and stayed the night. The next three days we went... More

Used Spirit of the Wilderness in Ely, MN to outfit our recent family trip into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. We did their 5 day Kevlar Complete Equipment & Food Package They did a nice job and the equipment was in good working order and complete. We would definitely recommend them and would use them again. The food was... More

Visiting Boundary Waters is something that I will never forget. The silence, mindfulness and human ruggedness of the experience is why i would go back in a heartbeat. We put in on Monday and got back out on Friday. There are many different options available depending on your desire of difficulty. I'd recommend getting setup with an outfitter in Ely,... More
