The park was clean, beautiful, not full, and is a great way for families to experience the hills of Texas. One of the best features is that it is on the Frio River. Plan to bring everything you need to cook for the visit. If...More

Lovely grounds. Challenging, but short hikes. Crystal clear water. Restrooms needed more maintenance. Park staff were downright rude sometimes. The area is beautiful and worth the visit.

Took a day trip out from Houston. It was stunning. Took a hike to the top of old baldy summit followed by a float down the frio river. Will be going back on a regular basis!

We have been coming here for years, now we have two small children and got to bring them. Our 2 year old loves it (the other is only a month old)! She gets to play with rocks and beautiful stream. This place is magical!

There is a Circle K convenience store at the intersection of Hwy 83 and 1050 right outside of the park's entrance. There are then other options if you drive south to Concan or north to Leakey.
