A must see on every DC trip.

Inspiring memorial that reminds me how fortunate I am to live in a country which is perfect for me despite its imperfect past.

With an exceptionally good weather for February, we enjoyed a rather busy monument but the sensation was of comfortable relax. You can read two fo American Histoy main documents wrtten by Abraham Lincoln. And when you turn around to leave, you face a spectacular sight of the Mall, with all the leafless trees and the different monuments enclosing the place.

What is not to say?!? It's THE LINCOLN MEMORIAL, what's not to like? 48 states line the façade ( Alaska and Hawaii were not part of the union at the time it opened). You can stand on the exact spot where Dr MLK Jr gave the IHAD speech. I had goose bumps just looking out from where he stood. I... More

Try to hit this as early in the day as you can. It becomes extremely busy mid day and into dusk. The views of the Washington Monument from here at dusk are very beautiful though. Street Parking is free on Sunday. Very loud inside despite the quiet/show respect sign. So many school groups and kids being loud and running all... More

A very impressive monument for one of the most impressive leaders in history. A must see and a chance to read the Gettysburg address and his second inaugural address in very large font!

The kids (5 and 8) were in awe. The parents were in awe, too. The Lincoln Memorial is a classic that shouldn't be missed.

Always nice to go see the Lincoln Memorial. We reread his Gettysburg address and his inauguration speech. Place was packed house I did not see one person that I could Id as security which I thought was strange.

History surrounds you when you arrive at this site. All the eminence of obelisks and monuments. Seeing disappear and reappearing Lincoln as you go up the stairs, enjoying the sight of Martin Luther King when he gave his speech, and reading Lincoln's message at Gettysburg make this an experience where history is exalted.
