Yes this is the pinnacle of any Washington visit, selfy heaven but only if you get there at the right time, we got there and the barriers were up close to the side walk so the pictures were taken from afar, but as we walked...More

All the monuments and Memorials are must see, they paint a picture of history. The Whitehouse is no different. Definitely a must see while your here.

Feel quite privileged to have stood outside the White House. Plenty of security around but low fencing allows views right across the back lawn and to the House. Minus point - nearby toilets were disgusting!

Loved seeing the white house but hated all of the protestors, although we could talk to our kids about the freedom of speech and right to protest even though it was annoying to see people not accepting our current president or discussing very sensitive subjects...More

A photo outside the Whitehouse was on our "must achieve list" when visiting Washington DC. We visited on Sunday morning and it was quite busy. Our advise, be prepared to make a space for your family photo shot. You can't avoid being in others way,...More

After all, it's just a house, it's not even that big up close. There are a bunch of benches in front of the actual doors and there is literally nothing to see apart from the house. There are't even that many guards or police men...More

We were able to visit the exterior which is nice enough to see, Security is high. The street is closed off so there is no traffic which is nice. Strike up a conversation with the protesters in Lafayette Square for some fun and perspective. Inside...More

You can never see the White House too much. I recommend seeing it in the day and evening. The lighting is awesome at night.

We put in five months in advance for an inside tour but we're denied less than a week before so we shuffled our plans. We went after nine p.m. and it was relatively quiet which made it easier for a photo. I had hoped to...More

I didn't understand the question. Seemed more like a comment/opinion to me. But it was worth seeing even the exterior of The White House anyway.

I applied for myself and 3 Swiss cousins and received authorization. My cousins presented their Swiss passports when we entered the building. I happened to go to the Swiss Embassy website, however, and noticed advice to... More
