Even though it was December, it was a beautiful sunny day. It was a beautiful walk around the monuments. Took the little side paths up to see all the memorials. Great place to take some amazing pictures.

We missed the Cherry Blossoms but it is so nice to walk or bike along the Tidal Basin. We rode bikes to the Jefferson Memorial. Just a beautiful part of Washington DC.

The tidal basin is great on a hot day. The walking paths surrounding it offer shade on a hot day and it is especially beautiful when the cherry blossoms are blooming in Spring/Early Summer. There are also paddle boats for rent nearby and you can paddle boat right up to the Jefferson Memorial.

This is always perfect to visit because it is beautiful whether the cherry trees are in bloom or not. The path walking the tidal basin leads to the Martin Luther King Memorial, Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, and is close to the Holocaust Memorial and the WWII Memorial. The basin itself has gardens along the way and opportunities... More

We thought we were going to miss the cherry blossoms because of the early bloom and then the blizzard, but the late bloomers must have liked the cold! Our local guide told us she had never them so pretty. We were in D.C. for a week at the end of March/first of April and the trees stayed beautiful the entire... More

I hit it on one of the most beautiful days possible WITH the cherry blossoms in full bloom, so I was totally enthralled! I had no interest in the paddle boat thing but could see how it may be fun to get a different perspective. I was happy getting my great pics from land just walking around...offers great views of... Every year we do our walk around the tidal basin to catch the cherry blossoms and this year was a great walk. I was amazed at the number of photographers this year---obviously a very popular place to get great pix!

The Tidal Basin is a fantastic walk any time of the year, day or night, for great views of downtown Washington DC - especially if you're interested in seeing the FDR Memorial and the Jefferson Memorial. The area is famous for it's views during the Spring Cherry Blossom Festival, if you're lucky enough to be there during the time in... More
