One of the must sees in DC. Monuments come in all sizes and this one is known everywhere...Lovely panorama and conveniently located to the Holocaust Museum which should not be missed as well.

Was not allowed to go to the top. Bring comfortable walking shoes and a selfie stick. Lots of visitors here.

I grew up in DC and haven't lived there in over 20 years. The museum and monuments were my favorite places to visit as a kid so when I have the chance to go, I really enjoy it. We visited the Washington Monument but since...More

Watched the 4th of July fireworks here and the Washington Monument makes a fantastic backdrop for the fireworks. Unfortunately the monument is still closed so you can't go to the top, but it's still worth a visit if you're on the mall seeing something else.

To see it on a postcard and to see it up close and personal are two different things. Thank God for an opportunity of a lifetime.

Tower is really an imposing one leaving a lot to your imagination. Great views of the city including the Lincoln memorial and the white house from this spot. Also a good view of the newest museum in DC the African American museum.

What a thing to see, a huge place to relax a bit. The marine band was playing a free concert that day and we got a chance to listen. One of the best things to see in Washington. Just an absolute awe of a structure

Really neat to see up close. We ended up taking a tour bus which I'd recommend as a way to see everything with young kids.

Typically cancellations are done at the Visitor Centrex or at the Park Rangers Office. I have seen it being done at Visitor Centrex in some places though I have not done it .

About 30 minutes. When you get to the top, you theoretically can spend as much time as you want. Most people spend about 15 minutes taking in the views and reading the information on the walls before heading back to the... More
