Taking public transport to get to the National Arboretum, it wasn't the easiest of trips to get to this attraction as it is slightly out of town. Still, the trek was worthwhile, even in the near-blizzard conditions on the day! We enjoyed viewing the camellias and the conifers at the other end of the park, and loved having the opportunity... We took this as a side trip to help get away from the multiple bus loads of kids that were in town the same time as we were. We were not expecting such a peaceful and enjoyable place to walk through, enjoy the lovely plants and to relax before starting out on another more hectic tour. I would highly recommend... More

The Arboretum is a little off the beaten track for a typical tourist visit to Washington. Whether you are a resident or a visitor, it's well worth the visit. Serene and lovely - there are paths and exhibits, and of special note, check out The Capitol Columns - by going to the Arboretum's website you can learn the interesting history... More

Difficult to get to if you don't have a car, but as a hiker I walked for 50 minutes from Noma-Galludet metro station (you might be able to get a bus) on an icy cold day. It was worth the walk. Virtually empty on this weekday, it was a real pleasure to walk around. The trees were turning red as... More

I had never thought so much plant life could be in one building, and being it was Christmas, we had a chance to see the awesome decor along with all the wonderful displays.. A muct visit

This was just a quick visit with family before our dinner reservations, but it was very enjoyable to wander through the indoor gardens. They were decorated for Christmas, but the highlight was the National Park Centennial display. Throughout several rooms, there were miniature buildings, structures, or natural landscapes representing all the National Parks.

The are few places in the nations capital where the Autumn colors can be seen any better. To tell the truth though this "little acre" is a delight any time of year.

I live in DC, and have been to the Arboretum numerous times. Some of the "exhibits" are constant, such as the Bonsai trees, or the columns but most of it changes seasonally. I was able to come in the spring when the Magnolias were blooming and was overwhelmed with their beauty. But even when they were not in bloom, they... More

Came here for the first time with my Pomeranian group, the dogs loved being outdoors and we loved all that there was to see. I had no idea! I have driven by this place for years and never ventured in. I will definitely be coming back....and with my pups too. great place for a picnic as well.

an amazing oasis in the middle of DC-- somewhat of the beaten tourist path. Hundreds of well-done plantings of every imaginable flower, bush, vine, tree, etc. Numerous walks -- the azalea walk is lovely in spring.
