Nutcracker like no other!
Nov 2019
I was in DC visiting my Daughter who attends GWU. While there we took in the Nutcracker done by the New York ballet. Don't drive, always take a taxi or Uber because parking is always difficult and it's one less thing to worry about. When there buy tickets in advance and download to your phone, this will make for easy entrance to the center. When there visit the Russian room at intermission, for drinks. I went with my wife and daughter and it was great.

Black Girls Rock Fest
Mar 2020 • Business
I attended the Black Girls Rick Fest with workshops, seminars and musical performances all at the Kennedy Center. I traveled from Tennessee. The grounds were immaculate and well maintained. There was ample accessibility accommodations and the staff was knowledgeable and helpful. I hope this partnership continues. I hope to catch more events at the Kennedy Center on my next visit to the DC area. There is ample parking (paid) both at the Kennedy Center and surrounding area.

Great Place to See Performances
Mar 2020 • Friends
Every time I attend a performance here, I have an amazing experience. Yes crowds will be crowds, but they do their best to get you seated.

Studio K is a nice venue
Feb 2020
Went Fri nite at 9:30 for a comedy show with two other couples. We sat in the balcony with plenty of leg room. Not too big and not too small. Studio K has other intimate venues as well. Would go again.

At least it was free
Feb 2020
My wife and I recently attended a free jazz concert at the Kennedy Center. This was the first time we were in the center and it was nice, but the group was too abstract for me. We also looked at the two newer buildings on the foggy bottom and the were nice too.

Amazing
Feb 2020
We were given tickets to the symphony at the Kennedy Center. What an amazing place! Big, beautiful, breath taking. Different things going on at the same time. And we would recommend the symphony to anyone- it was great!

Matthew Bournes Swan Lake..
Jan 2020 • Couples
Wow, this was such an amazing performance of swan lake, without doubt the best version that I've ever seen.
I couldn't keep my eyes off the dancers, especially the main Swan.Such grace and elegance.
Even a little added humor added here & there.
So refreshing to see this ballet performed with men as Swans wearing feathers rather than the traditional female role normally performed & wearing tutus.
We had tickets in a BOX & we're very excited.
Although we were not on the front row.
On the front row there was a couple who had brought their young daughter ( maybe 6-7) who couldn't stay seated and was throwing herself around, hanging over the edge of the front rail of the balcony .Then bouncing back.
I moved my chair 4 times to avoid being distracted.I actually quietly asked the young girl to please sit still. She did for about 2 minutes
In the intermission, her father and her passed right by me and I asked him if he could please get his daughter to sit in place.
He changed place with her when they returned.
She then I could see started throwing a little hissy fit.
OMG people GET A BABY SITTER.Before you subject others who have to sit behind your misbehaving child.
TICKETS ARE NOT CHEAP.
ESPECIALLY IN THE BOX SEATS.
I HOPE THE PARENTS OF THIS CHILD READ THIS.

Nice to have free concerts, but...
Jan 2020
We enjoyed visiting the special exhibition outside of lanterns for the Chinese New Year. The free concert of bamboo instruments could have been enjoyable, but squashed with hundreds of other people standing only was not the best. The flags and other exhibitions are interestng and a guide answered our questions very nicely.
