The Kennedy Center has an imposing presence along the banks of the Potomac. You can enjoy nice views of Georgetown Waterfront Park and Georgetown’s buildings from its terrace which is just outside the entrance to the theater. The theater itself is simple with plain red...More

We attended a concert of the National Orchestra conducted by Gianfranco Noseda. The performance of Brahms 4th Symphony was electrifying. The impressive halls of the center host great modern art exhibitions.

We made the first of two pre booked visits to the Center and Opera House today. The architecture is most impressive and the various halls and displays blend together well. If you are visiting by public transport then consider the Metro to the “Foggy Bottom”...More

You can come to the Kennedy Center for a performance in the opera house, concert hall or Eisenhower theater. But there's a lot more to do in the building. They have frequent free concerts and even plays in the Millenium stages at either end of...More

Every time I came to the Kennedy Center, I said "wow, why don't I do this more often?" regardless how much I enjoyed the show. We brought my 16 yo daughter for her first opera and it did not disappoint. The space is simply gorgeous....More

Came to DC for a show here because we had never been before. We got tickets to Shear Madness and we had a great time. The artists on stage were fun and engaging. They had a chance to ad lib much of their performance which...More

Of course, your experience coming to the Kennedy Center will turn on the particular performance you are seeing. We obviously cannot tell you that, but we can say that this is an excellent venue, whether you are here for a musical, a play, a concert,...More

Driving into DC is not fun, but it was easy to get to the Kennedy Center and there was plenty of parking. We were going to see Shen Yun and it was an awesome show. I don't think that there are any "bad" seats, though...More

Tours average about an hour, but can vary depending on the tour guide and how many questions the group has. Tours start approximately every 10 minutes during scheduled hours. If visiting on a weekend, remember tour hours end... More

People wear everything to the Kennedy Center. My preference is the little black dress, but you will see long dresses and slacks as well. Metro is safe (depending on your stop) but as previous commenter wrote, be aware of... More

We often go to Circa in Foggy Bottom. The free bus to the Kennedy Center is right across the street. We also take the bus back to the same location to get a taxi home since the Center is so mobbed after the show.
