The Capitol is among the most architecturally impressive and symbolically important buildings in the world. The Senate and the House of Representatives have met here for more than two centuries. Begun in 1793, the Capitol has been built, burnt, rebuilt, extended, and restored; today, it stands as a monument not only to its builders but also to the American people and their government.

Lots of history here. the tour was awesome ! Got lots of great pictures. Lots of people moving around working. I was able to see the Senate & HOR in session. The tour guide was very knowledgeable on the history of the rooms we visited. There is a video you watch before the tour. It covers how our government was... More

Obviously, the Capitol is a must see while in D.C. I was personally so impressed by the staff. Everyone working here was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the building. I've never seen so many smiling, happy government workers. The public tour itself consists of a short informative video and then you're walked around by a guide who you listen to... More

The Capitol is an amazing building. We visited the week before the presidential inauguration. I figured we'd be politely told that it was off-limits due to preparations for that, but not the case. Only the front was in-accessible due to scaffolding going up. The security is of course very strong - definitely leave things like belts at home if you... More

Washington DC is a great place to see all the powerful buildings of America. See them at night as well as they look different.

Another Iconic spot in Washington. Fantastic architecture. Huge and all covered in white color. surrounded by gardens and sitting on a hill right in front of Lincoln memorial. It's the workplace of US congressmen and senators. The dome is remarkable. A must visit when in Washington DC.

We tried to book a visit through our congressman but had some technical difficulty so we walked up for an unscheduled visit and I'm so glad we gave it a shot. We waited less than 10 minutes and the tour was fantastic. Definitely leave yourself about 2 hours to complete the tour end to end and more if you plan... More

It is another most famous spot in DC. My visit in evening and morning both were given different experience. In the evening I saw amazing white building. In the morning I saw it in more detail and the big pond added better view. Great building to see.

This is a must go place but you only get to see a small portion of the building. I recommend the tour to ensure you get to hear about the history of the building, but if Congress isn't working that day (e.g. weekends) you don't get to see the chambers and the tour is limited.

Absolute great informative and humorous guided tour! Besides we were lucky to see some of the preparations for the inaugural speech. As a foreigner I learnt a lot. Also the striking resemblance with the Vatican dome was finally revealed to me. It is really one of the most intersting places to visit Washington. Great service free for public!!!

Large in real life and better in person and where tourists come to see the capitol upclose. One of the oldest buildings in America and as white as snow and as White as The White House with beautifully landscape gardens.
