This is one of my absolute favorite places in Washington DC. The cathedral is absolutely gorgeous and the tour guides are very friendly and knowledgeable. They were very gracious with my disruptive 6 year old. The basement "dungeon" is fun and exciting and don't forget...More

Gorgeous cathedral with great tour guides. I would suggest the "behind doors" tour which has to be arranged before hand. Easy parking.

The church itself is beautiful and so much bigger than I imagined. The staff/volunteers were especially helpful to us. They were closing for an event that evening when we arrived but they were kind enough to let us in and take a few quick pictures....More

We took the "Behinds The Scene" tour and enjoyed it immensely. This is a grand Cathedral and the tour tells the story - highly recommend (this tour is 90 minutes, make reservations in advance of your trip)

The National Cathedral Washington, D.C. was most exotic place I have ever seen in my life, the mosaic art was beautiful. We arrived early to make a long visit to the National Cathedral Washington, DC. It is a wonderful place with murals to see, nice...More

A national treasure. The stained glass in this cathedral is beautiful art. The cathedral suffered from an earthquake several years ago and they are working on repairs, but most is unseen as it was in the upper architecture. Go downstairs to all the chapels and...More

A must see when in the area from the stunning stained glass to the winsome gothic gargoyles. Don't forget the gift shop under the main sanctuary.

Hi, on Sunday July 02 there are three morning masses: 8:00 (45 mns.), 9:00 (60 mns.) and 11:15 (75 mns.). The distance between the National Cathedral and the National Mall is 25 mns. by car and about 30 mns. by public... More
Hi! We will be in DC on Easter, and we plan on getting passes to the 11:15 service. We will have children with us between the ages of 5-10, and I'm not sure that they will make it through the entire 75 minute service. Does anyone have advice on if we will be able to leave the Easter service early? Any advice on where to sit in the cathedral? Thank you!

You used to need to have a ticket (no cost) to go to Easter service. I do not know if this is still the case or if any are available. Check the web page for the cathedral to see what you need. There are seats on the side... More
