The best tour in DC. It's great the tour is still open to the public. Our guide was very knowledgable and we were able to go to most places inside the Capitol except for the Senate and House meeting rooms. We booked our free tickets...More

The share magnitude of the visitor center struck me on arrival. At first, I thought it would be daunting, but then calming down I saw how easy it was to navigate, and how welcoming and comfortable it is to have so many people and still...More

A gallery bringing mutiple modes of transportation togetehr providing access to the US Capitol Visitors center. Statues, monuments maybe even a public figure or two. Like going on a plane so empty your pockets and purses and leave it in the car or hotel room.

This is where you enter if you wish to tour the Capitol Building. We showed up fairly early and had no delay getting through security. You cannot bring in any food or liquids of any kind. They did allow us a small backpack. Once inside,...More

You'll have some lines to get in. It's worth it. The staff are always gracious and professional. For older folks (like me) who remember free access to the Capitol and other Fed facilities back in the day, this will be crabby-making. But be patient, it's...More

For the most part the Visitor Center is simply the start of your tour of the Capitol. However there is a museum in the Visitor Center that is well worth the 30-45 minutes it takes to see everything. When we were there it was the...More

You don't need your passport or ID to just visit the Capitol. Everyone goes through Security screening, which is basically like airport screening. However, if you want an official tour then you would have to book either... More

I agree with my fellow advisors. See the Library of Congress and/or the Supreme Court instead. Both also have superb bookstores.
